Improvised Weapons
Sometimes characters are caught without proper close combat weapons, and must make do with whatever comes to hand. Improvised weapons are rarely effective, but are better than nothing.

Unarmed
A character fighting unarmed rarely causes severe injuries on an opponent, although a well-placed, powerful blow is fully capable of killing someone.
No Location Injury: As explained in the Injuries section, unarmed attacks do not cause location injuries unless the roll to hit was a matched success (i.e. a critical hit).
May Not Parry: Characters without weapons may not attempt to parry. Therefore there is no Parry Penalty for fighting unarmed.
Natural Weapon
Creatures with claws, fangs, spiked tails and other natural weapons will have little problem harming their opponents.
May Not Parry: Characters without weapons may not attempt to parry. Therefore there is no Parry Penalty for fighting with natural weapons.
Improvised Weapon
Chairs, brooms, spanners and even small animals can be used as weapons, although their hitting power is usually compromised by being too heavy or unbalanced to land a blow in the first place.
Improvised Weapon: The GM may refuse to allow certain items to be used as improvised weapons – normally if they’re too small, fluffy or nailed to something. Alternatively, the GM may allow questionable items to be used, but with a hefty negative damage modifier.
Damage: The damage for an improvised weapon is based partly on its Encumbrance value. For example, beating someone with an Encumbrance 120 statue would cause D3+1 damage. Round fractional damage bonuses to the nearest whole number.
Pistols And Heavy Weapons: Pistols and heavy weapons that are used as bludgeons count as improvised weapons.
Rifle Butt
Rifles are an ideal length for bashing someone’s brains in – in fact, early arquebuses were often designed with as much this purpose in mind as for firing.
Basic Weapons: Only the butts of basic weapons can be used. Pistols and heavy weapons are less well-designed and therefore count as improvised weapons.
