Legio Titanicus
(Advanced) Legio Titanicus – Ordinatus |
|||||||||
If Space Marines are the scalpel, and the Imperial Guard are the sledgehammer, then the Titan Legions are the demolition ball of the Imperial military. Comprising massive humanoid war machines hundreds of feet in height, mounting weapons normally only found on starships or fortresses, Titans are the Machine God incarnate, and a demonstration to all Imperial citizens of the overwhelming power of the Emperor. Each Titan has a surprisingly small crew – a princeps commander, between three and a dozen weapons and engineering ordinati, plus a number of servitors and technomats to perform menial duties. The ordinati each have command of a single system on board the Titan, the most prestigious being the weapons, although the plasma reactor ordinatus has the honour of ‘breathing life into the Machine God’s fiery heart’. |

(Advanced) Legio Titanicus – Princeps |
|||||||||
The role of princeps is the highest honour available to a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus military. Titans are controlled by MIU, so princeps hooked into a command seat perceive themselves to be the Titan they control. It is therefore unsurprising that many develop a superiority complex towards those outside of their crew, even when an individual in question is actually of higher rank in the Adeptus Mechanicus. Most Magi tolerate this near-messianic attitude as they are secretly in awe of anyone commanding an avatar of the Machine God. Other, more realistic, Magi take exception to uppity military commanders and thus are started many internal vendettas within the Mechanicus. |
